"some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen" (michael jordan)...or back to the future...

Holding on until lightning strikes...that's me!  Scotch-Irish stubborn I am with hint of red-hair feisty. Tired of holding on...making it happen is where the magic shows up.  How does a shy girl run into the future with both arms open wide and no fear or doubt whatsoever?  How many noes does it take to conjure up just the right yes?  How many crooked roads end with a 'welcome home'?  It doesn't matter because when you truly know what you want, you get it.  I remember playing teacher as a little girl.  I would watch Captain Kangaroo and whatever else flashed across the black and white screen, pack my books, and head out to the giant oaks that graced the end of the long, shady, sandy lane at Route 2, Box 72, Salters.  I honed my skills on the roots of those giant oaks.  Well, guess what?  I grew up to be that teacher and can't seem to escape it...no matter the effort.  Geography seems not to enter into the equation.  No matter where I roam, the dream from long ago comes knocking on my door.  Someone please tell me.  Why didn't I play being a millionaire?
